Things To Do On Your Own ## Kerry - visit Killarney and Killarney National park and don’t leave before walking through the  Gap of Dunloe. Other places to visit in Kerry would include the Dingle Peninsula and Skellig Michael.  Cliffs of Moher- at 702 feet at their highest point they stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic coast of County Clare in the west of Ireland.   Adare- one of the prettiest and picturesque villages in Ireland it dates back to the 12 century. Visit Desmond Castle, St. Nicolas Church and Holy Trinity Church. Limerick city-  visit King John’s Castle, St. Mary’s Cathedral and the Milk Market Bunratty Castle and attend a medieval banquet! Belfast and the Antrim Coast - while there take a Black Taxi Tour- the best way to start to understand Northern Ireland’s complex history. Also visit the Titanic Museum is a must see.  And take a drive along the Antrim Coastline to the Giant’s Causeway.  Croagh Patrick- situated near the town of Westport in County Mayo. On the last Sunday in July, thousands of pilgrims climb Croagh Patrick in honor of Ireland’s patron saint who, as the story goes, fasted and prayed on the summit for 40 days. On a clear day, you can take in incredible views of Clew Bay and the surrounding south Mayo countryside from the top of the mountain Newgrange - a prehistoric monument in County Meath.  It is an exceptionally grand passage tomb built during the Neolithic Period, making it older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids.   Dublin  - Ireland’s capital city-  make sure to visit Kilmainham Jail and the Guinness Storehouse, the National Museum, the National Gallery and Trinity College and the Book of Kells. County Cork - visit the city but also try and visit Blarney Castle visit and kiss the Blarney Stone.  Also visit Spike Island -  this island, located in Cork Harbour, has an intriguing and diverse history. In the past 1300 years, the island has transformed from a 6th-century monastery to a grand fortress, and then to a prison. Galway city -  the third largest city in the country, it has a medieval city center with cobbled streets, lots of street music and a lively atmosphere. It's also the festival capital of Ireland. Aran Islands - located just off Galway and Doolin where locals speak Irish as well as English in a setting of Celtic churches of historical significance including World Heritage site Dun Aonghasa which is set on a dramatic 300 ft cliff edge. Kilkenny city - a beautiful medieval town - visit Kilkenny Castle and Gardens, St. Canice’s Cathedral and Round Tower, the Butler Gallery and the Smithwick’s Experience  Go Surfing - some of the best surfing spots in the world are in Ireland so if you can brave the cold you could check out Lahinch in Clare or Mullaghmore in County Sligo. Cycle the Greenway - many old train tracks throughout the country have been converted into cycleways - a great way to see the countryside Go mountain biking in Ballyhoura - one of the best places to go mountain biking in Ireland, there are trails for all levels and abilities. Blast down technical trails or spend a day exploring the entire network.
